For the Love of Geo-Cashing

We were introduced to this fun sport by Brendan's sisters, Missy, and Kristin. We finally got our own gps for Christmas and put it to good use today going on the hunt for odd trinkets.

This picture is of our very first one, near a cemetary. Spooky! Okay, not really, but it was fun, the gps gets you within a few feet and then you have to really search. Dallin spotted it underneath a bushy tree.

The next one we had to do a little hiking, and it was MUDDY! Oh well, thank you laundry soap. This is Brendan and Nathan trekking through the Jungle.

And at last the find, this was a big cash with a lot of fun things in it. This was well hidden and a good find.

And p.s. in my motherly defense, I usually try to comb down the explosion on Dallin's head, but he felt he was on vacation.

I LOVE his hair. You should never try and tame it. Let it be.

I have heard that this is fun, but haven't actually tried it. Sounds like good family time!

Happy New Year Friend!

Oh, it's fun, we just went again today. There are two kinds of gps, one for the car and one for trailing, or hiking, it gets you within feet.

You go to the geo-cash website, type in your zipcode and you will probably see a thousand places you can hunt in your area. Type in the coordinates and you're on your way. There are big cashes with big trinkets, and there are micro or nano cashes that are a pain to find with four kids.

You find the spot and the tupperware or whatever it is and there's trinkets inside, you take out what you want and put in your own trinkets.

It's a treasure hunt.
