I need a vacation from my vacation!
The scenery was gorgeous. The weather cooperative.
The kids had a great time. (Thank you dvd player in car.)
When we had the nearly teenagers in our car it was, NO MOVIES ALLOWED.
When we had the four year olds it was, THANK YOU BOLT! Because
nothing is greater than a dog who thinks he has super-powers
and a hamster named Rino when cruising for Big Game sightings.
And also go-gurts, fruit roll-ups, granola bars, chips, and a few
juice boxes. Not for me - for the children!
Cousins are fun, really fun. But having them together for so long
is a great reminder that I am NO Mother Theresa. Screwing up eleven
kids schedules, eating ALL the TIME, and in and out, in and out, drive, drive, drive is a serious recipe for self-medicating.
But OH THE LOVE. And baby Bison, and baby Elk, and baby Black Bears, and baby everything are SO CUTE! Funny thing is, the kids were just as enamored by the dogs
that other people brought along with them. THANK YOU DOG OWNERS, for having the ability to own a pet and share it with the world.
And in the end, we now have a new family memory, complete with a grandma and grandpa, aunts and uncles, and very loving, noisy, happy, screaming, cousins. The cool animals, scenery, and geysers were just a bonus.
Thank you Felix Family for all you did to make it happen.

I have always loved our extended family get togethers because of the memories they provide. I love, too, that my adult kids still feel very connected to their cousins. What a nice feeling.
Give my love to la familia Felix.
So glad you are back and you survived! How fun that the whole family got to go...I'll be calling you...So glad you're back!
